CGC Landran commenced two days National Conference on Emerging Challenges in Biotechnology

Chandigarh, August 22, 2015 (News Team): CGC Landran organized two days National Conference on Emerging Challenges in Biotechnology in collaboration with Association of Microbiologists of India, (AMI) Chandigarh Unit. National Conference was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. Rupender Tiwari, Founder Microbial Biotechnology Punjab University .President, AMI Chandigarh Prof. Prince Sharma and Dr. Upendra K. Jain also present in the occasion. 

The aim of the conference is to bring all the professionals of Biotechnology to one platform to exchange the knowledge, experience and research innovations to build a biotechnology community. Around 457 delegates from various institutes of India participated in the conference. Eminent speakers from various universities/institutes delivered lecture on various biotechnological aspects. Young researchers shared their research experiences with the delegates. Students from various colleges and institutes also displayed their ideas during poster presentation session.

On this occasion, Chief Guest Dr. Rupender Tiwari emphasized that faculty must visit the industry so that they get to know the requirements of industry and prepare the students accordingly. Secretary AMI Chandigarh Dr. Naveen Gupta explained the activities of Association of Microbiologists of India.

Satnam Singh Sandhu Chairman, and President Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal CGC emphasized on the fact that Biotechnology field will serve the purpose if it will be society-oriented. Such kind of noble efforts are very much required as this region has become a hub of biotechnology in recent years. They further emphasized the need for central facility where students can perform basic research and development activities.
