Chandigarh, February 7, 2015 (Online News India): Tata I-Shakti Masala Kitchen Star Contest an exciting and interactive platform introduced especially for the Punjab market concluded today by crowning Ravinder Kaur from Ludhiana as the winner and Raman Kapoor from Ludhiana and Sakshi Batra from Kapurthala as the first and the second runner up respectively.

The contest witnessed the participation of thousands of home chefs from across the state of Punjab. The grand finale saw 10 shortlisted contestants prepare their individual signature dish in a live cook-off event using the Tata I-Shakti masalas. The competition was adjudicated by India’s most celebrated Chef Sanjeev Kapoor in the presence of Richa Arora, COO Consumer Product Business, Tata Chemicals and Subodh Srivastav, Business Head New Products Group Foods at Tata Chemicals.

Designed for home chefs to showcase their culinary talents, the Tata-I Shakti Masala Kitchen Star Contest winner Ravinder Kaur was crowned by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor. Also present at the event were the top 40 participants of the contest who bagged an opportunity to meet and interact with Chef Sanjeev Kapoor at the grand finale.

Commenting on the occasion Richa Arora, COO, Consumer Products Business at Tata Chemicals Ltd stated, “The Tata I-Shakti Masala Kitchen Star contest provided us with an exciting platform to engage with our consumers. Punjab has always been a strategic market for us and Tata I-Shakti spices have received an exceptional response from consumers. This has encouraged us to launch the product in other parts of India as well. I would like to extend my congratulations to the winner and participants, and convey my gratefulness to Chef Sanjeev Kapoor for lending his culinary expertise to Tata I-Shakti masalas.

Commenting on the contest, Chef Sanjeev Kapoor stated, “Punjab is a land known for its delicious food like Sarso da Saag and Butter Chicken. We got a chance to unravel and discover some great talent through the Tata I-Shakti Masala Kitchen Star Contest.
