Chandigarh, January 12, 2015 (Online News India): As part of 26th Road safety week Government High School, Sector 41A in association with Yuvsatta an NGO organized a Road Safety Programme, involving over 800 students of the School. The programme involved organization of various competitions like Poem recitation, essay writing, slogan writing and poster making on the theme of Road Safety.

Pramod Sharma, Coordinator of Yuvsatta while addressing the students shared that with annually over 1 lac precious lives lost in India in road accidents, the issue of Road Safety should become the most important social issue in the country. In Chandigarh alone every year over 100 people lose their lives in fatal accidents on the roads. It’s high time that all educational institutions should take this challenge that issues of road safety doesn’t remain mere slogans but becomes a way of life.

Later Pramod Sharma along with School Headmistress Manit Kaur honoured the winners of various Intra School Contests organized on the occasion.
