Goa, November 22, 2014 (Online News India): Paul Cox renowned Australian Director of the movie Force of Destiny, a film of the master stroke section in the 45th edition of IFFI addressed a press conference today. He said that he draws inspiration from the Indian philosophy of mutual respect and love which says that we should respect the differences of each other. He said that he always follows his heart in process of film making and the holy book for him is his heart. He said that whenever he visits India, it gives him the sense of homecoming.
While answering the question on the current state of Indian cinema he said that Indian cinema is going through exciting time when the new people and new wave of cinema is coming up.
Speaking about the film he said that his movie is based on ordeal of his own life in which he emerged victorious against battle of liver cancer. The film is based on the book he wrote, Tales from the cancer ward. The Indian connection of the film is the strong Indian cast including Shahana Goswami, Seema Biswas and Mohan Agashe. The major portion for the film is shot in Trivandrum, Kerala.
Indian co-producer of the film Baby Mathew informed that, he first met Paul Cox at the 2012 IFFI Goa where Paul was the recipient of the lifetime achievement award. ‘I was so moved to hear his personal journey of courage and his intentions behind making this film that I offered to co-produce this in India segment’, he added.
The film A force of destiny is a life celebrating story about a sculptor who survives a liver transplant and falls in love. The film also makes an appeal for organ donation.
