Mumbai, August 24, 2016 (News Team): Mahesh Bhatt introduces his leading lady of Star Plus’ Naamkarann, a 10-year-old tough, gritty and spunky Avni, with a musical journey at an event in Mumbai. The showman behind musical extravaganzas like Hum Hai Rahe Pyar Ke, Ashiqui, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin, Mahesh Bhatt’s music has struck a chord with audience’s hearts to create blockbuster melodies.

Creator of Naamkarann, Mahesh Bhatt says, “Naamkarann is my most thought provoking project and Avni is my strongest character. Music sensations like Arijit Singh, Monali Thakur, Anuradha Paudwal, Kumar Sanu, Pala, Jeet Ganguli and Anu Malik have come together to create the music for the show bringing alive the lyrical moments in Avni’s world.”

Monali Thakur who is the voice behind the title track of Naamkarann says, “The lyrics of the title song, Naamkarann, will connect with any woman instantly. The thought ‘Don’t label me, don’t name me’ in the song expresses the pursuit of every woman trying to find her own identity. Naamkarann is going to compel people to rethink the social structures and norms with Avni’s identity quest.”

The stumbling block of an absence of a ‘normal family’ in Avni’s life, propels her to develop strength which sets her apart from most kids of her age.

Arsheen Naamdar who is a discovery of Mahesh Bhatt and was selected from the 200 girls who auditioned for this role says "Avni is not at all like me or my friends. Mahesh Uncle has helped me understand Avni and her family.”

Barkha Bisht who returns to Star Plus television after 5 years, playing the character of Avni’s mother, Asha, adds “Avni is an extremely perceptive and mature child. Being a mother in real life as well, witnessing Avni’s struggle to understand the absence of her father from her life and yearning for him is heart wrenching.”

It is said that stereotypes are incomplete stories. Avni endeavors to discover her story in Mahesh Bhatt’s Naamkarann coming soon on Star Plus.

Mahesh Bhatt’s Naamkarann starting 12th September 9 pm from Monday to Saturday on STAR Plus.
