Tiny Tots perform Giddha during Annual Day function of nursery standard at Delhi Public School in Amritsar today

Amritsar, March 14, 2015 (Munish Sharma): Tiny tots of Delhi Public School of nursery standard today got the taste of their first success in the field of academics as they graduated from nursery to the primary section.

It was a unique experience for Navrattan Devgan mother of Delhi Public School Head girl Sohani Devgan to preside over as Chief Guest during the celebration of tiny tots of sunshine wing to step into primary level on the Annual Day. It was perhaps for the first time that a mother felt acknowledged for being the force behind her daughter’s (head girl) performance and was thus honored to become the chief guest at the school function.

The day saw gaily dressed little ones prancing about and readying to get their pass certificates that not only assessed them for their learning skills in academics but also special abilities, responses, interests, general behavior pattern and attention span.

The function started with declaration of five year old Raavi Bajwa as ‘Special Sports Girl- 2014-15’ for her outstanding performance of having skated 20 Kms to Wagah Indo-Pak border in a record time of 94 minutes.  Raavi whose namesake is the one of the five rivers of Punjab had zoomed in ‘Open District Roller Skating Championship’ earlier to win three-gold medals and had also won a gold in ‘11th Roller Skating Championship’.

On the occasion tiny tots put up a grand Punjabi medley song and dance show. On the numbers ‘Ve le de menu mal-mal di pakhi ghungrooan wali’; ‘Kale rang da paranda’ , ‘Mehandi, mehandi, gidde wich nachdi’ and English dance performance on peppy English song ‘Una ploma blanca'.

Earlier Principal of the school Sangeet Singh and member of the school management committee Aakash Khandelwal extended a floral welcome to the chief guest who distributed the certificates for cent percent attendance in class besides merit certificates to 62 students.
