Amritsar, March 02, 2015 (News Team): “Sports which is considered the opiate of masses and inculcates fair play, teamwork, sportsman spirit, bonding and patriotism among children are fading away, as more and more children are glued to modern day electronics like mobile phones, computers, Television etc leaving no time to play actual sports in a playfield”, Aakash Khandewal member of the Delhi Public School management aired his views while inaugurating the annual sports day of students of Pre nursery and Prep classes of DPS. Along with him the school principal Sangeeta Singh, while addressing students and parents at the event said, “The loss of activity has give

n place to bloated egos, winning at any cost and emotional outbursts which is an unhealthy trend and in order to curtail this sports have been introduced not only for tiny tots but has also enrolled participation of the parents.”

The excited parents and their children enjoyed and competed in fun filled sports together which included Pick and Drop race, burst balloon, pastry race, musical chairs, hurdle race, target game and bonded with their children in action activity. Prizes were distributed to winning children and parents.
