Students during 10th Graduation Ceremony of Upvans at Sat Paul Mittal School in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, February 27, 2015 (Neel Kamal Sonu): This was a day of significance in the life of the Satyans of Class UPVAN as they took a step ahead from the pre-primary education to the formal system of education on the 10th Graduation Ceremony at Mittal Auditorium. Satvir Singh Athwal (A.D.C.P Ludhiana) was the Chief Guest.

The ceremony started with the lighting of the lamp. The blessings of God were sought through the song ‘This little light of mine’. The guests were welcomed by Gurprit Kaur, Head Junior School. The Curtain Raiser left the audience spell bound. The tiny tots took the Oath of Allegiance to the school flag as a solemn affirmation to speak the truth and abide by the school rules. The dainty little ones clad in their gowns and caps impressed the audience with their poise as they marched gracefully into the auditorium. The Satyans enchanted everyone with their lovely song ‘I throw up my hands in the air’ illustrating their desire to begin a new journey in Class I.

The Chief Guest presented the scrolls as the respective class teachers introduced the children to the august gathering. The audience was filled with awe on seeing the smartly dressed Satyans accepting the scrolls with pride. The Satyans of class I welcomed the Graduates to class I with a foot tapping dance performance on the tune of ‘Get on the floor ’. The audience was spell bound with the Grand Finale which was the fusion of Punjabi, Guajarati and Rajasthani folk dance.

The students of Upvan marched out on the Scottish tune of “Auld Lang Syne”. It is a Scottish poem written by Robert Burns which is very widely used to symbolize new beginnings and commemorate the successful initiation of the Satyans of Upvan into the world of formal education. The confidence and enthusiasm of the Satyans left the audience spell bound.

The Chief Guest was delighted to see the confident and poised Satyans. He congratulated the marching contingents who walked on the stage with utmost zeal and vigour. The parents were full of mixed emotions on seeing their children graduating to the next level of formal education. Amar Nain, Deputy Head Junior School congratulated the students for stepping towards new horizons and motivated them to face the upcoming challenges. The ceremony ended with the School Song and the National Anthem.
