Ludhiana, March 15, 2015 (Neel Kamal Sonu): Montessori Wing of Bal Bharati Public School celebrated its Annual Day ‘Mahotsav-The Luminous Frame’. Nikhil Channa, Chairman, Bal Bharati Public School presided over the function as chief guest. Dr. V. K. Ahuja, Vice President Child Education Society was Guest of Honour. A gathering of 1200 parents attended the function.

The function began with traditional lamp lighting ceremony. Principal Ms. Punam Dogra highlighted the achievements of the school. Nikhil Channa appreciated the school for its meteoric progress due to honest and sincere efforts to impart quality education to its students. Dr. V. K. Ahuja encouraged the audience to understand the individual differences of the children and co-operate the school in bringing out their inherent talents. L. V. Sehgal, Secretary of the school, explained that ‘Child Education Society’, the parent organization of the school aims at creating responsible and reliable citizens of India. He appreciated the effort being put in by the Principal and the staff and expressed his warm wishes for the steady growth of the school.

Then the visit to the valley of sufis and saints began. Mont II students welcomed spring season in the crown of India, Kashmir with an ecstatic choreography. Humour and fun was added to the environment through an enactment on great tales of King Akbar and Birbal ‘Toh aayeeye sune Akbar Birbal Ke Rochak Kisssae’. The rich cultural heritage and the seasonal festivity of Haryana was glorified through the next dance presentation. After these delightful moments, the valour of the great heroine of the First War of India’s Freedom, the Queen of Jhansi, Rani Lakshmi Bai was depicted through an choreographic presentation by the students.

Dance is not only an abstract exploration of rhythm and movement but it also has a story telling aspect. The skillful little kathakaras, executed their performance with subtle gestures, brilliant footwork and spectacular spins, reawakened the interest in traditional Indian art form. An interesting wisdom tale “Santushti Mein Pushti” based on the incredible ancient Persian folk character, Mulla Nasruddin was narrated in a fresh and vibrant style which imbibed valuable esoteric teachings. BBPS Master Chefs showed their art of cooking through the demonstration of some yummy delicacies which highlighted the unique culinary and oratory skills of our gifted Bal Bharatians.

The audience travelled through the mysterious, magical and mystical land tucked away in the north eastern, Arunachal Pradesh through a fascinating dance presentation. The land of beautiful Bengal was explored by Mont II students through their dance performance which involved various moods of merriment and togetherness. The saga of bravery and courage was presented through a wonderful enactment on the life history of ‘Bharat Ka Maan-Tipu Sultan’. India’s deep South was explored through a dance presentation reflecting the culture of Kerala.

Bal Bharatians dressed up as fisher folks of the industrial powerhouse of India, the state of Maharashtra, mesmerized the audience through their rhythmic movements. Then the travel to vibrant Gujarat began. The spirit of Goa was reflected beautifully by the students which made the audience relax in leisure soaked beat of music. The peculiar magic of the enigmatic state Rajasthan was exhibited by Bal Bharatians with “Albela Mela Rajasthan Ka”.  Mont II students depicted the simplicity and generosity of Sher-e-Punjab, ‘Maharaja Ranjit Singh’ through their dramatic presentation. The function came to an end with presentation of Punjabi folk dance Bhangra.
