Ludhiana, February 11, 2015 (Neel Kamal Sonu): Annual Sports Day held at Jesus’ Sacred Heart School Ludhiana today. The event started with marching of the houses, keeping up with the spirit of all the four houses Gandhi, Nehru, Tilak and Tagore, the students gave their best performance for winning the coveted ‘Best Marching Contingent’ Trophy. The Director of the school took the salute from the students of all the marching contingents. The Best Marching contingent declared was Tilak House.
The girls of middle school delighted everyone with the exuberant ‘Tera Taali’ dance of Rajasthan and the primary students sang into everyone’s hearts with their mellifluous voices. The students itching to perform and show their athletic prowess on the field began the day with fun games for primary classes like caterpillar race, potato race, over and under race, bungee race, crocodile race, skipping race etc. Each and every student participated in these races and enjoyed them to the tee.
The seniors also displayed their grit and determination to taste victory in their races. The entire event was a fun filled learning experience wherein students learnt that it’s not winning that’s essentially important but participation is equally meaningful.
The event was also marked by races for Teachers wherein all the teachers took part in the races with full zeal and enthusiasm, as their students cheered and applauded them. A tug of war was also there between teachers and senior students.
The Directors of the school Pawandeep Singh and Ramandeep along with Management Members and Principal Kirti Sharma were there to boost the morale of the young sports persons by giving away medals and certificates. The day ended on an equally high note with the students of primary section giving a scintillating dance performance in the closing ceremony.
