Ludhiana, April 10, 2015 (Neel Kamal Sonu): Vibrant festival of Baisakhi was celebrated with lot of energy and vigour at Bal Bharati Public School. The school premises wore a festive look with compound fully decorated and the students dressed up in colourful attires. Dancing, singing and feasting go hand in hand with the spirit of Baisakhi. Bal Bharatians participated whole-heartedly in the fun-filled function.

The students were made aware about the historical background, significance and relevance of Baisakhi by Tanisha Kalra, Dhriti Mahajan, Jasicapreet Kaur, Ridhi Arora and Keskirat Kaur. They highlighted the various ways in which Baisakhi is celebrated in different parts of the country. It was followed by a poem by students of class IV which was a treat to the ears.

The students of class IV gave a glimpse of Baisakhi Mela through their mesmerizing dance performance. It showcased the festival being celebrated jubilantly by the people of Punjab as it is one of the main festivals of Punjab. Dressed in typical folk attire, the students of class IV and V enthralled the audience with another energetic dance performance on 'Sami Meri Vaar' which was appreciated by one and all.

Principal Punam Dogra conveyed her best wishes to the students and wished that the festival should be celebrated in its true spirit to usher in peace, prosperity and happiness in our lives.
