Ludhiana, April 10, 2015 (Neel Kamal Sonu): Green Land Convent School New Subhash Nagar Ludhiana organised Baisakhi Mela on the ocassion of Baisakhi Celebration. Tiny Tots were dressed up in beautiful attires gracing the ocassion. A whole set up of Punjabi culture and tradition was visible on the day. The function was organised to showcase the vivid and rich cultural and rural life of Punjab Charkha, chajj, pakhi, madhani, chaati etc. were displayed on stage which made the ocassion more authentic.
Different stalls of traditional food items makki di roti, sarson da saag, gol gappe, jalebi, Rooh Afza were displayed to give the environment a complete outlook of our rich culture. The students relished the eatables and enjoyed every moment of the occasion. Vibrant and enthralling performances of Bhangra and Giddha were given by the Punjabi Gabru’s and Mutiyaars of the school which mesmerised the audience.
On the pious and graceful occasion tiny tots of Kindergarten made their footprints to welcome their first stepping stone in the arena of education.
Chairman of the chain of Green Land schools Rajesh Rudhra praised the zeal and fervour of the students with which they performed. He threw a limelight on the relevance of this day. He also motivated the students to enrich their rich cultural heritage by imbibing moral values.
Principal Jyoti Pujara addressed the students highlighting the religious importance of the festival. She asked the students to take a vow that they should remain intact with the rich culture of India under any circumstances. The whole school wore the festive look of rich Punjabi culture. On the whole the Baisakhi celebration was enjoyed by one and all.
