Ludhiana, November 16, 2015 (Neel Kamal Sonu): The students and teachers of Green Land Convent School, Dugri paid obeisance to the eminent freedom fighter S. Kartar Singh Sarabha on his 100th death anniversary. The students and teachers gathered and after prayer flowers were offered to the great patriot to pay homage. The students presented speeches based on the life history and revolutionary activities of S. Kartar Singh. His patriotic poetry was also recited.
The President, Chain of Green Land Schools Shabad Rudhra presided over the event. In his message, he informed about the value of nationalism and love of nation in our life. Giving the example of S. Kartar Singh Sarabha. He inspired the children for the upliftment of the nation and to safeguard the liberty, fraternity and sovernity of India. The Director, Vijayata also addressed the students and emphasized the need of information to the students related to freedom struggle and great revolutionaries so that the youngsters must understand how our ancestor have earned this freedom. She added that it is the utmost duty of every citizen to protect our freedom.
The Principal Dr. Amandeep Kaur Bakshi while addressing the students told various events related to S. Kartar Singh Sarabha’s life. She urged the students to take message from the life and even the sacrifice of such freedom fighter to align their life and career. She added that all our duties and actions should be dedicated to our people and our country. The event ended with the recital of National Anthem.
